During the September 9, 2009 school board meeting, Miami Dade County public Schools Board Members, Dr. Lawrence S. Feldman and Ana Rivas Logan took the time to recognize four of our officers for their exemplary work and performance.

On May 29, 2009, Citizens Crime Watch of Miami-Dade celebrated its 34th annual awards ceremony recognizing crime watchers and law enforcement partners who have helped make a difference in our community. During this ceremony, Officer Montoya Jackson was the recipient of the School Resource Officer of the year award and Officer Bryan Levy was the recipient of the McGruff Award. Both officers were recognized by Miami-Dade County Public Schools Board member, Dr. Lawrence S. Feldman for receiving such prestigious awards.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools Board member, Ana Rivas Logan, also took the time to recognize two officers that work in her district for their hard work and effort. Ms. Logan stated the following about Officers Walter Koppel and Lloydell Cohen:
