Congratulations to M-DSPD K-9 Unit
During the April 14, 2010, School Board meeting, Miami-Dade County Public School Board Member, Dr. Lawrence S. Feldman took the time to recognize the Miami-Dade Schools Police Department (M-DSPD) Canine (K-9) Unit for their dedication and exemplary work.
The Miami-Dade Schools Police Department (M-DSPD) Canine (K-9) Unit was established in 1995. Comprised of one sergeant, three officers, and their highly trained canine partners, this specialized unit is available on a 24-hour basis to support the M-DSPD and other law enforcement agencies. The K-9 Unit undergoes extensive training throughout the year and has demonstrated expertise in conducting area canvases and building searches for narcotics and explosives.
