Juvenile Court Wall of Honor

On May 20, 2011, Miami-Dade Schools Police Department (M-DSPD) Chief Charles J. Hurley, was inducted into the Juvenile Court Wall of Honor. School Board Vice-Chair, Dr. Lawrence S. Feldman, Senior Cabinet and M-DSPD Command staff members were all in attendance to show their support during this special event.

The Juvenile Court bestows this honor on individuals who have made a significant contribution to children in the juvenile justice and child welfare systems. After the ceremony, Chief Hurley was surprised by the Miami Edison Senior Marching Band upon his return to M-DSPD headquarters. Congratulations to Chief Hurley, the first Chief of Police to receive this special recognition.

“Of all the community we are expected to protect and serve, none are more valuable, yet vulnerable, than our children… they should be all of our priorities… and we as law enforcement should do everything within our power and chosen profession to ensure that the trust, support and safety of the public, especially the children, is earned and seen through.” Chief Charles J. Hurley
