President Obama Visits Miami Central Sr. High School
On Friday, March 4, 2011, President Barack Obama, along with Education Secretary Arne Duncan and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, visited Miami Central Senior High School to praise the students and staff on the tremendous academic strides made as a school during the 2010-11 school year. During the visit, the United States Secret Service (USSS) requested the assistance of the Miami-Dade Schools Police Department (M-DSPD) in providing protection for the President and his staff.
The M-DSPD and the USSS worked together to make sure the President’s visit went smoothly and without any disruption. The collaborative efforts of both agencies working together was just another example of the success that can be achieved when law enforcement agencies work jointly towards a common goal.
